Ivy Muse: Plant Stands

I’m a big fan of the plant stand. Having grown up surrounded by them in the 70’s, they conjure up fond memories of Nephrolepis exaltata ‘Bostoniensis’, (Boston Fern) and Philodendron Cordatum (Sweetheart Vine) adorning any worthy space we had either in or outside our home. And like these stunning plants, the plant stand has thankfully made a comeback that I welcome with a celebratory embrace.

Ivy Muse, a recently launched botanical wares studio has produced their own version of todays plant stand, made from start to finish in Melbourne.

Nightshade18_smIvy Muse is the brainchild of longtime friends Jacqui Vidal and Alana Langan. Jacqui, founder of art retailer ‘Signed & Numbered’, together with Alana, interiors stylist and owner of online boutique ‘Hunt & Bow’” launched the business with a mission to produce beautiful, functional stands that allow people to get creative with their greenery.

Designed by Jacqui and Alana, the stands are made from steel for durability and strength then powder coated to add beautiful colour and a perfect finish. Nightshade20_sm

Ivy Muse has now launched ‘Nightshade’, its second collection of limited edition plant stands. Commissioning a renowned local ceramicist, Ingrid Tufts has produced an exclusive range of pots to complement the designs. Wheel thrown from iron bearing stoneware, each pot has been combined with soft pastel glazes to allow the clay to gently reveal its natural character.

Nightshade22_Crop_smThe plant stands have been designed to allow maximum flexibility in the many ways in which they can house plants and are suitable for a variety of pot sizes and shapes, encouraging you to get creative with some greenery.
