Waverley Council: Celebrating Gardens

Waverley Council is celebrating gardens and green thumbs with their triennial Waverley garden awards; a wonderful event that recognises the positive effect that gardens have upon those around them. The Council want to applaud local green thumbs that contribute to the improved well-being and overall quality of the Waverley landscape.

The beauty of this council is that they appreciate, respect and encourage creative diversity, understanding that it brings a brilliant vibrancy to the community. The awards recognise gardens of all shapes and sizes from a balcony garden, bush garden, English courtyards through to shared veggie patches and all are encouraged to enter.

007.Waverley_19.09.2012The awards fall into four categories and will be judged by a panel of experts including guest judge Myles Baldwin, one of Australia’s leading landscape designer. Each garden will be assessed for its design, innovation, appearance, maintenance and overall quality. Sustainability initiatives and biodiversity will also be warmly welcomed.
