In our last week of Autumn, this plant is another seasonal favourite, Viola labradorica, Labrador Violet. It is a beautiful low growing ground cover perfect for semi shaded to deep shade areas. Given a bit of moisture it can thrive and spread via roots and its self seeding properties to quickly cover exposed soil.
The small heart shaped leaves have a purple blush and put on an amazing display of dainty light pink violet flowers in spring and autumn. Use in combination with other low growing ground covers to create a patchwork of colour and textural changes. Great between stepping stones companioned with Kidney Weed.
