Plant Profile: Cotinus coggygria ‘Grace’

Cotinus coggygria ‘Grace’, Smoke Bush is an oldie but a goodie. This large deciduous shrub has lovely biscuit shaped burgundy foliage. Almost paper in appearance they turn an amazing orange in Autumn after a spectacular floral display of ultra fine cream panicles in late Summer. Hence this plants common name Smoke Bush, as from a distance it does look as though it is smoking.

Use as a back drop or shape into small trees and plant in copses. It responds well to constant pruning so if you are after a season changing hedge, give it a go.
