It will be a valuable resource for anyone looking for inspiration, ideas and the key to sustainable living. In many locations experienced builders, architects, designers and sustainability group members will be on hand to provide value expert advice.
As Australians become more aware about home sustainability, many are looking for guidance and easy-to-follow steps. Many, however, don’t know where to start, who to trust or seek advice from, or what the latest advances are. Word-of-mouth is growing in significance as the way people source information on more sustainable living, but Sustainable House Day is not just about words, it’s people have an opportunity to see actual models of sustainable living achieved by ordinary Australians. Nine out of ten visitors to listed homes are influenced by what they have seen and learned. The event is a hands-on way of helping to bring about a reduction in society’s environmental footprint. Sustainable House Day has a proven history in creating change.
